Light a candle for all those affected

– Participate in Covid Memorial Day on December 8

Let’s make December 8th a day of remembrance for all those who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in different ways.
Elderly people who were forced to die alone and were subjected to harmful medical treatment. Children and teenagers who were not allowed to meet, go to school or enjoy their leisure activities. Vaccine passports and injection requirements that tore families, friends and partners apart. Companies forced out of business. Millions of people who were injured by the Covid vaccinations.

Together, we honor the victims of the Covid tragedy and highlight a path toward reconciliation and justice.

FAQ

Why December 8?

December 8 was chosen as a symbolic date, marking the day the first Covid-19 vaccine was officially administered on December 8, 2020. This date serves as a reminder of a time that transformed the world and invites reflection on the pandemic’s effects on individuals and communities.

Who is behind The Covid Memorial Day?

The idea for Covid Memorial Day was born during a global protest in Stockholm on December 10, 2023, when thousands gathered around the world to question the awarding of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for Covid-19 vaccine discoveries. At the demonstration outside the Nobel Prize Museum, Andreas Sidkvist, Chairperson of MoD – Human Rights and Democracy, a Swedish non-profit organization, declared the need for an annual day of remembrance to honor those affected by the pandemic.

Partners also include Swedish NGO, Doctors Appeal / Läkaruppropet.
